Real-world careers and money skills for every child

Career Lab Live gives students in grades K-12 real-world financial literacy and career readiness through immersive, hands-on programs. Programs currently run for grades K-6; programs for grades 7-12 are in development. As a nonprofit, we are committed to equity and access, so that every child can thrive in school and in life.

Our mission

Why we exist

Children learn about money long before anyone teaches them. Career Lab Live puts them in real roles, with real-looking money and real decisions, so they practice the skills they will need as adults while they are still in school.

Equity and access

We prioritize Title I schools and underserved communities, so that a family's income does not decide whether a child takes part.

Our vision

Where we are heading

We want every student to finish school with financial confidence, teamwork skills and the readiness to pursue the careers open to them.

  • Academic confidence: math put to work in situations children recognize.
  • Financial confidence: everyday money skills that last a lifetime.
  • Career curiosity: meeting jobs and workplaces that inspire future goals.

What we do

Connected to the classroom

Our activities are written to fit Georgia's K-12 Mathematics Standards (2023) and K-12 English Language Arts Standards (2025) for grades K-6: decimals and place value at the teller window, budgeting and comparison when shopping, and reading for evidence when checking a claim. That alignment is our own judgment, not an endorsement by the Georgia Department of Education or any district.

In their own words

Why we started this

I kept meeting children who were smart and broke. Financial literacy is the one subject almost every adult wishes they had learned earlier, and almost no elementary school teaches it. Georgia now requires financial literacy instruction, but the tools stop at high school.

Kindergarten through sixth grade is where money habits actually form, and it is where nobody was building. So Career Lab Live started there, rather than in the easier, better-funded high school market. I started it for the child who did not get the head start.

How we are organized

Career Lab Live Corporation is governed by a board of directors. We write our own curriculum and run our own programs. The games in our after-school program and summer camp run on a platform built by our technology partner, Fundoria LLC, a separate company.

Two organizations, disclosed plainly

Career Lab Live Corporation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, EIN 39-3910687. Fundoria LLC is a Georgia limited liability company that builds and runs a K-6 financial literacy game platform. They are separate legal entities with separate finances. Patrick Arnold, Career Lab Live's founder and executive director, also leads Fundoria LLC, so the relationship between them is a related-party relationship.

The arrangement is meant to run in both directions: Fundoria's games licensed to Career Lab Live for use in our programs, and Career Lab Live's curriculum content licensed back to Fundoria for use in the games.

Neither license between the two organizations has been signed yet, and no fee has been set. Terms are to be set at market value and are governed by Career Lab Live's board of directors.
