What we are working toward, and how we will know
We would rather show you honest evidence than impressive-sounding numbers. This page sets out the outcomes we design for, how we measure them, and what we can report so far.
Our goals for children
Outcomes we design every program around
These are goals, not results. Each one maps to activities in our programs.
Counting and change
Children count money accurately and make correct change.
Budgeting
Children plan spending within a set amount and put needs before wants.
Saving
Children set a savings goal and track progress toward it.
Borrowing
Children explain, in their own words, that borrowing money costs money.
Staying safe
Children recognize common scams and know how to protect a card and PIN.
Checking claims
Children test a story or an advert against the evidence.
Careers
Children can name jobs they had not heard of and describe what those jobs involve.
How we measure
- Field trips include short knowledge checks before and after the activities, run with classroom teachers.
- The after-school program uses short check-ins at the start, middle and end of each term.
- Summer camp includes a starting check, a mid-week check-in and a check at the end of the week.
- Assessment results are collected only with consent.
Where this stands today
The after-school and summer knowledge checks are still in draft and have not yet been piloted. We have no measured learning outcomes to publish for any program yet. When we have results, we will report them here.
